Brandt Brauer Frick

Pitchfork Festival

Brandt Brauer Frick would have played at the Pitchfork Festival in Tempodrom on 8 May.

»The idea for the video came from an idea for a live performance that we still want to stage at some point in future: the ten musicians of our ensemble play in ten different rooms so that you can freely walk around the different parts and layers of the music and, thanks to amplification, hear the sound of all the instruments combined in another room. We shot the Masse video in a nuclear power station which was built near Vienna in the 1970s but which was prevented from going operational by a referendum on nuclear power. We were able to film in locations that would have never been accessible if electricity had been generated there. For example, the drums and percussion were actually placed in the reactor itself.«
